The story behind the systems.
From Basra. Five years turning messy institutional and business problems into products people actually use.

Ali Najm · Basra
I didn't start in a startup. I started inside institutions — electricity systems that can't afford to break. That taught me what production means: clear architecture, boring reliability, and interfaces people can actually operate.
Today I help organizations replace manual work with production-ready digital systems — government operations, SaaS platforms, and products that reach real users — including products I own like Basiq and SAHL.
The through-line is the outcome: systems owners trust with their business, their citizens, or their customers — not a stack list.

Production systems at scale
South Electricity Distribution · Basra
Architected and shipped systems thousands of people depend on daily — the discipline that still shapes how I build products.

Founder & independent builder
Independent · Basiq · SAHL
Shipping platforms for tourism, events, and hospitality while building SaaS products I own.

B.A. in Computer Science

Where systems thinking met real-world constraints — and where I learned that software only matters when it ships.

Products over portfolios
The goal isn’t a pretty portfolio piece. It’s a system owners trust with their business, their citizens, or their customers.
Craft with production bones
Personality isn’t noise. Color and warmth can still be clear, useful, and serious about outcomes.
One person, company standards
You work with a founder who ships — not a résumé looking for a job. Clarity, ownership, and production discipline.
How the work gets made.
Grouped by layer — not a logo wall.

Most of my time goes into Basiq and SAHL. Consulting is limited — and selective.
